About
Vermont native and raw hardwood enthusiast Robbe Pierce, known as Kibby, has been working with wood flooring for nearly 25 years. Branching out on his own, Kibby started Elegant Wood Floors in 2004.
The new company quickly cemented its impeccable reputation for designing, installing, sanding, and finishing locally sourced raw hardwoods in homes all over Vermont, often in Burlington, Williston, Colchester, Jericho, Underhill, and Richmond.
About Kibby
Kibby Pierce was born and raised in Underhill, VT and now lives in a Smuggler’s Notch home he built himself. He lives with his wife, their two cats and a parrot. Kibby “lives to work;” his off-hours are spent doing woodwork in his garage and around his house, where he is constantly working on new projects. Kibby’s family and clients know him as a true artist who puts substantial thought into his woodworking; all of his intricate flooring ideas start out as sketches in a notepad before he lays the first piece of wood.
Mission
Kibby works with raw hardwood from local sources in Bristol and St. Albans. He has a passion for working with raw wood, refinishing wood flooring in all homes including new and historic homes, and he strives to be eco-friendly by providing the option to use water-based polyurethane floor finish. Using a water-based polyurethane on your hardwood floors cuts down on fumes and odor, and it has less VOCs (volatile organic compounds) than oil-based polys. It also dries much faster, allowing you to use your new flooring sooner!
Elegant Wood Floors also helps cut down on carbon dioxide emissions by using local resources. The closer the wood, the less distance it’s been hauled, which means far less truck exhaust in our atmosphere.
