Installation

Where do we install wood floors?

We install wood floors in homes all over Vermont! We’re most frequently in Burlington, Williston, Colchester, Underhill, and Richmond.

What kind of wood do we install?

We install many types of wood, typically pine, fir, maple, birch, oak, or cherry. Contact us for help deciding what’s best for your space.

I already have the wood I want, would you install it for me?

You bet, we’ll install it!

How long will installation take?

Depending on the size of the room and barring any surprises laying under an old carpet or other type of flooring, installing hardwood can take as little time as one day up or as much time as a week. Since installation time depends on many different factors, give us a call for a more accurate timeline.

Sanding

After we install the new raw hardwood flooring, we go over it with our top-of-the-line drum sander and orbital sander to smooth the wood and prep it for finishing.

I might want to keep my existing hardwood, but it’s very damaged. Will sanding help?

Yes! Even if your existing hardwood floors are damaged but you’re not ready to rip them up, we can sand them down and refinish them to look like new.

Finishing

What types of finishes can I choose from?

Our most popular finish is a satin sheen because it’s less shiny and hides minor scratching from everyday use. We also offer semi gloss, gloss, water and oil-based polyurethanes, as well as various stains.

What kind of finish will look the best in my home?

We can advise you on the best finish suited for your flooring. Contact us today to discuss the best finish for your new hardwood floors!

Refinishing

What kind of hardwoods can you refinish?

We refinish both soft (pine, fir) and hard (maple, birch, oak, cherry) hardwoods.

Can my old hardwood floors really come back to life?

They can! We’ll sand away black tar from carpeting, layers of paint, stubborn old varnishes, scratches and dints- anything that has built up over years of wear and tear. Your old wood floors will look brand new!
